I'm Faith Caserini, an American with over a decade of living, working, and building a life across Europe. I grew up in California, but fell in love with Europe during a semester abroad. Now, I’ve built a career and a life on one side of the Atlantic while remaining unmistakably from the other.

While studying International Business Management in Paris, I discovered cross-cultural communications — the study of how different cultures think, work, and all too often misunderstand each other. I realized this was the thread connecting everything I found fascinating and went on to spend five years as a Corporate Communications Manager at an international company, working with colleagues from 35+ countries. I became fluent not just in languages but in the gaps between them.

Then I met my Italian husband and we planned our wedding just outside his hometown south of Milan.

I expected smooth sailing. I was organized, experienced, and marrying a local. What I didn't anticipate was how thoroughly culture would color every interaction — the vendors who took weeks to respond to my many follow up emails and said “no problem” when there was, in fact, a problem. The vague answers and mysterious invoice totals that seemed to be pulled from thin air for all the info I received.

In the end, the wedding was beautiful. But the planning was one of the most stressful experiences of my life.

It wasn't until it was over that I realize that I saw my interactions in my professional life through the lens of cross-cultural communication but not my personal life. Suddenly, the picture became clear. The silence wasn't negligence. The vagueness wasn't lack of transparency. It was culture — on both sides — and nobody had translated.

That's what Caserini Wedding Advisory is built on.

I'm not a wedding planner. I'm a cultural translator, here to help American couples understand the Italian system they're planning within, and helping Italian vendors understand the American clients they're working with. So that both sides can stop talking past each other and start building the wedding they’re dreaming of.
